You've given notice, the date is set, and someone has to carry the sofa down four floors. That's us.
ZUMOVE moves you across Zürich, from Uster to Winterthur or right across Switzerland. We take it apart, carry, load, drive, carry back up and set it down. Beds, wardrobes and tables go back together at the new place — that's part of the move, not an extra line on the bill.
The prices are here on this page, in the open, before you give us your number. The binding fixed price follows once we've seen the flat.
What the hourly rate covers — no asterisks
- Two to four movers plus the right vehicle, depending on the size of the flat
- Carrying, loading and securing — through narrow stairwells and up the floors too
- Blankets, ratchet straps, mattress covers and edge guards
- Sack truck, furniture dollies and tools — we bring it all
- Travel inside the core area up to 15 km, fuel and kilometres
- No VAT — the number you see is the number on the invoice
- Besenrein (swept-clean) handover of the old flat
- A quick check with you before we leave the stairwell
What we don't charge you for
- Travel within 15 km — that sits in the flat fee
- Tools, blankets, straps, mattress covers
- Waiting time we cause — traffic, a breakdown, a crew running late
- The short first chat and the visit to see the place — both free
- The last twenty minutes of tidying and sweeping up

We come and look
Twenty minutes at your place or by video: we look at how much there is, what the stairs are like and where the van can stand. Costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

A quick look, at your place or by video
Ten minutes on WhatsApp is usually enough. We see what's really coming along: the full cellar, the staircase in the old building, the piano nobody mentioned on the phone.

Fixed price in writing
You get a quote with the date, the crew, the vehicle and everything that's included. What it says is what holds — even if the Zügeltag (moving day) runs longer than planned.

Zügeltag (moving day)
We turn up on time, load, drive and set things down. You just say what goes in which room. By the evening the old flat is besenrein (swept clean) and the keys are ready for the handover.

- 2.5-room flat, lift at both ends, within the city of Zürich: approx. CHF 600–800
- 3.5-room flat, lift at both ends, Zürich → Uster: approx. CHF 870–1'160
- 4.5-room flat, second floor without a lift: approx. CHF 1'610–2'140
All amounts are final prices in Swiss francs. ZUMOVE is not VAT-registered (MWST, Swiss VAT), so nothing is added on top. The price becomes binding once we've been round and seen the flat — that costs nothing and takes twenty minutes.

- Boxes: we bring them, collect them and dispose of them, if you'd rather not sort them out yourself
- Parking permit from the City of Zürich, signs included — CHF 140, the city's own fee with nothing added
- Piano on request · Safe from 80 kg CHF 270 · Old furniture and waste disposal CHF 100 per m³ — that is not in the hourly rate
- Taking furniture apart and putting it back together — CHF 155 flat for beds, wardrobes, tables and shelves. Fitted wardrobes, kitchens and heavy systems we look at first.
- Final cleaning of the old flat — from CHF 250, fixed price once we have seen it. Swept clean is always included; a handover guarantee we deliberately do not give.
What moves the price up or down
- 01The number of rooms. It sets the crew, the vehicle and the hours — by far the biggest lever.
- 02Floor and lift, at both addresses. Four floors without a lift cost more than ten kilometres of driving.
- 03The distance between the old address and the new one. Up to 15 km it sits inside the flat travel fee.
- 04The date — and that one doesn't move it at all. Saturday, Sunday, end of month cost the same hourly rate here as a Tuesday in November. If you have to move on the 31st, you don't pay more for it.
- 05Extras: packing, furniture hoist, Halteverbot (the permit that keeps the parking space outside free).

Do you need a parking permit in the city of Zürich?
In most neighbourhoods, yes — without a reserved Halteverbot (a stretch of kerb the city officially keeps free for you) you spend your Zügeltag (moving day) double-parked with the truck and carrying everything 60 metres further. We put in the application and bring the signs for CHF 140. Tell us early enough; the city needs a few working days' notice.
What does a move cost for a 3.5-room flat in Zürich?
Realistically CHF 870 to 1'160, if both addresses have a lift and the route stays inside the region. That isn't guesswork, it is a sum: 3 movers with a truck at CHF 155 an hour, around 6 hours, plus CHF 75 travel. Without a lift, add CHF 60 per floor — at both addresses. Every one of those figures is on the price list on its own line.
Hourly rate or fixed price — which is better for me?
The fixed price is our standard. We take a quick look at the flat, on site or by video, and you get a number that holds — even if the day runs longer than planned. The hourly rate pays off when there's little to move and you lend a hand yourself. Then a half hour started is billed as a half hour, never rounded up to a whole one.
Do you take furniture apart and build it up again at the new place?
Yes, as an extra for a flat CHF 155 — it isn't included in the hourly rate. Beds, wardrobes, tables and shelves are part of that. Fitted wardrobes, kitchens and complex wardrobe systems we look at beforehand, because they take considerably more time — then the work is on the quote before Zügeltag (moving day) and not on the invoice afterwards.
Do I need a Halteverbot in the city of Zürich?
Usually yes. Without a Halteverbot — a stretch of kerb the city officially keeps free for you — you'll find no space outside the building on Zügeltag (moving day), and every extra metre of carrying costs you time you pay for. We arrange the permit including the signs for CHF 140. Tell us early enough: the city needs a few working days' notice.
What happens if something breaks?
Tell us straight away, the same day. We record the damage with a photo and settle it ourselves instead of passing you on to a number. How we stand behind damage is set out in the terms and conditions — and if you want to know before you book, we'll send it to you in writing. Asking afterwards is the worse moment.
