Furniture transport in Zürich: pick up, carry up, set down
One piece of furniture, one appliance, half a flat. Picked up and delivered.
Not every transport is a move. The sofa from a second-hand listing in Oerlikon. The washing machine from the big store in Dietikon. The order that won't fit in the car — and that the delivery service leaves at the front door, in the rain.
We pick it up, secure it, drive and carry it up. Into the flat, into the room, into place — not as far as the stairwell. Two movers, one van, one price you know beforehand. In Zürich, Uster, Winterthur and all around, often the same day or the next.
What's in the transport price
- Furniture you bought in a shop, brought straight to your home — even when the shop doesn't deliver
- Van with 20–25 m³, blankets and ratchet straps
- Journey up to 10 km, then CHF 2.00 per kilometre
- Carried into the flat — not as far as the front door
- Delicate edges and glass secured with blankets and edge guards
- A short wait at the pickup if the seller isn't ready yet
- Fuel and kilometres, with no VAT on top
- We take the packing material and cardboard away with us

A picture of the piece, the pickup and the delivery address, both floors. We hardly ever need more.

Fixed price once we've looked
Send a photo and we know how much there is. The fixed price then comes to you in writing by WhatsApp or email — not a figure that changes afterwards.

Fix a date
Often the same day or the next, with no surcharge for the rush. We work every day from 6am to 8pm.

Pick up and set down
We pick it up, secure the load, drive, carry it up and put it where it's meant to stand. If you want, we'll assemble it there and then and take the old piece away.

All amounts are final prices in Swiss francs. ZUMOVE is not VAT-registered (MWST, Swiss VAT), so nothing is added on top. Send us a photo and we'll turn it into a binding fixed price within a few hours.

What sets the transport price
- 01How much there is: one item, half a van, a full van. Four tiers, nothing more.
- 02Floor and lift — at both addresses, not just yours.
- 03Distance over 10 km. Zürich–Winterthur adds up differently from Wiedikon–Wipkingen.
- 04Whether it has to come apart and go back together to fit through the stairwell.
- 05How much has to be carried, and how far. Short notice changes nothing about the price — not even tomorrow morning.
Trips we typically take on
- Picking up second-hand furniture, including private buys on Ricardo, Tutti or Anibis
- Deliveries from a furniture store, DIY store or warehouse — even when the shop won't deliver itself
- Swapping a washing machine, fridge or tumble dryer, with the old one taken away at the same time
- Single items between two flats, the cellar or a storage unit
- Kit for a renovation, an event or a trade fair: there in the morning, back in the evening

How far do you drive?
Our core area is Zürich, Uster, Winterthur and everything within roughly 40 km — from Dietikon via Kloten and Wetzikon out to Zug, Baden and Rapperswil. The first 15 km of travel are in the price, after that we charge CHF 2.00 per kilometre. For bigger jobs we drive anywhere in Switzerland.
Do you carry things up into the flat as well?
Yes, always. A transport job that ends at the front door helps nobody — that's exactly why most people call us. Floors without a lift we charge at CHF 35 per floor, counted up to a maximum of five. With a lift the floor costs nothing.
Can you collect a second-hand item I bought privately?
Yes. Give us the address and a contact number for the seller and we arrange the time with them directly — you don't have to be there. You do have to pay for the goods yourself, though, in advance or by TWINT on the spot. We don't handle cash and we don't handle the purchase.
Will you take the old appliance away at the same time?
Yes, for CHF 70 we take the old appliance with us and dispose of it properly. One thing other firms like to leave out: any dealer takes back appliances covered by the advance recycling fee free of charge. If you can make that trip yourself, you save the CHF 70 with us — we only charge for the collecting and the carrying.
How soon can you come?
Often the same day or the next, because small transport jobs fit well into a day that's already running. There is no express surcharge: tomorrow costs the same as in three weeks. What's on the quote is what's on the invoice.
Do you transport pianos?
An ordinary upright piano, yes — but we only set the price once we've seen it. Straps, protection and a third person are part of it, and how much of that is needed is decided by the stairwell, not by the instrument. For grand pianos we always come round first. If we can't carry it safely, we turn it down honestly instead of risking your instrument.
